Bank contract

£10.00 per hour

Role Overview

The Housekeeping Porter will support the Housekeeping Manager in all housekeeping operations and laundry management.

You'll ensure the hospital is clean and well maintained and be part of a team that is responsible for delivering an infection free environment; this includes Pennant Mews and Kensington High Street offices.

What you'll do

Actively ensure the delivery of a quality service through effective deployment of available resources across all departments within the Hospital, Pennant Mews.
Report immediately any defects of equipment, furnishings and fittings to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager.
Ensure that all queries are handled within agreed time frame regardless of the nature of the query.
Ensure that the outdoor cleaning schedule is followed through and signed daily.
Make sure that each linen cupboard throughout the hospital is adequately stocked with linen for the Nurses and Housekeeping Assistants and respond to any request for further linen or specialist linen.
Collect dirty linen from sluices rooms on each patient floor and designated areas around the hospital routinely to the dirty linen bay area.
Ensure that there are reject bags in all linen cupboards, collect them regularly and send them back to the laundry provider, clearly marked as Rejects.

What you'll bring

Previous cleaning experience and ideally some understanding of infection control.
Enthusiastic with the desire to become involved and develop in the role.
In addition, you will be a flexible team player who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues. You will have good timekeeping skills and be able to communicate and articulate politely in English.
