The manufacturing team are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic fabricator/plater, who is looking for a permanent role in a busy manufacturing environment.

The role will consist of, but not be limited to the following tasks;

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Welding & fabricating mild steel structures (high mast lighting products) to engineering drawings
  • Marking out, tacking up and fully welding of structures, masts and shafts 3mm 50mm
  • Drilling, tapping and hand profiling holes and door access holes as required
  • Fettling and cleaning of components with use of grinders
  • Setting up of plant and machinery specific for the job in hand
  • Use of crane to load and unload components from work area (crane/manual handling training to be provided in house)
  • Cleaning all welds, removing excess spatter and slag
  • Experienced in using a variety of tools common in welding & fabricating
  • Experienced in understanding and following Safe Working Practices for welding equipment
  • Maintaining a high standard of quality whilst working to deadlines set by Team Leader
Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Fabricator/Welder qualifications required
Preferred Skills

  • Experience of manual handling
  • Good communication skills
  • Experienced in reading engineering drawings
Additional Notes Overtime readily available at 1 1⁄2 plus Saturday mornings.

Basic Salary - £26,000 - £28,310 (not including overtime)
