We are looking for an analytical and highly motivated apprentice who is interested in data - how we manage, govern and utilise data for the benefit of M&G and our customers.

The successful applicant will be working as part of a team with colleagues in the Enterprise Data Team (EDT) and business team, learning new tools and skills to deliver successful projects.

They will have the opportunity to work in roles across the EDT, gaining experience in our Data Management teams.

They will support the delivery of EDT projects by undertaking business analysis and data management tasks as part of the Data Management and Tooling team.

They will work with business teams to deploy data management tooling and the creation of data management dashboards, learning and developing data visualisation skills.

The Enterprise Data Team is establishing group-wide access to data which is understood, trusted, available and valued.

It aims to create an environment where data is valued by the organisation and, in turn, is used to generate value.


To enable this, the Data Management team develop and execute policies and controls which ensure we can trust our data, mitigate risk and drive business value from our data.

The apprentice will also have an opportunity to learn a variety of the skills and experience required as a data professional in the EDT


Key Responsibilities for this role:
Populate data lineage and data definitions with our Data Catalogue tool which helps ensure we understand the source of our data and how it can be used

  • The development of reporting dashboards in visualisation tools such as PowerBI.

  • Working with business users to capture technical metadata (information which describes the data)
  • Creation of data quality rules, exception management workflows
  • Creation of Dashboards to track and measure the quality and accuracy of the data he business use to support decision making
  • Providing ad hoc support to wider team as and when required
  • You will also get exposure to a number of different projects and initiatives within the team, and the chance to participate and contribute in regular team meetings
