Job Title:
Digital Marketing Assistant (temporary contract)

Reporting to:
Marketing and Communications Officer

Location:
Based at either the Lancaster Centre (Slynedales), or Lakes Centre (Kendal) with travel around the geographical area


Salary:
£16,380 per annum (£20,475 full time equivalent)

Hours: 30 hours, temporary 12 month contract (days to be agreed)

Role summary

Main Duties

  • Website
  • Maintain the website ensuring content is relevant and up to date
  • Assist with ensuring that the website is fully optimised for search engines (SEO)
  • Establish clear calls to action to drive engagement and online donations
  • Work with the Quality and Data Officer and Marketing and Communications Officer to monitor, report and analyse website performance using Google Analytics
  • Social Media
  • Implement the social media strategy, coordinating all social media channels in a consistent, on brand tone of voice (this includes Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Youtube and LinkedIn)
  • Using Meta Business Suite, schedule and create posts, including designing elements, that engage our audience and drive traffic to our website
  • Monitor and respond to social media communications (following the guidance of the Marketing and Communications Officer or Head of Fundraising and Marketing)
  • Use social media analytics tools to evaluate campaigns and generate reports to inform and optimise future social media activity
  • Actively keep up to date on digital & technology developments
  • Design and branding
  • Deliver standard design work for campaigns across the organisation using CancerCare's preferred design package, CANVA
  • Manage the feedback process for ensuring relevant team members view and sign off design work
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer on a distribution plan for all branded marketing materials, ensuring that all centre's have up to date and relevant marketing assets
  • Help all staff understand current branding guidelines
  • Manage and create the quarterly Corporate enewsletter
  • Manage the feedback process for ensuring relevant team members view and sign off design work
  • Work with the rest of the Fundraising team to ensure content is relevant and engaging with clear call to actions
Supporting duties

  • Support the Marketing and Communications Officer with the design and creation of organisational assets such as the annual newsletter and annual report
  • Keep the Marketing Job List up to date with all marketing activity, in order to manage and organise current and upcoming work
  • Regularly review competitor / comparator marketing activity and share with the wider Fundraising, Marketing and Engagement Team
  • Manage the storage and organisation of all of CancerCare's photos on Teams related to fundraising activities and events
  • Attend events/fundraising presentations when required to take photos, produce social media lives and support the fundraising team with on the day promotions
Organisational duties

  • Contribute to organisation effectiveness through positivity and proactivity
  • Manage own workload and time, recording daily activity using appropriate software e.g., Microsoft Outlook
  • Have a flexible approach to work patterns in line with the needs of the role
  • Participate in staff training, team meetings and events as requested
  • Comply with CancerCare's organisational policies
  • Act in accordance with CancerCare's values and to promote the mission and vision of the charity at all times
  • Undertake any other duties as determined by the Executive Leadership Team
Mandatory requirements

  • Excellent IT and communication skills, diligent with details and accuracy

Temporary contract

Contract length: 12 months

£16,380.00 per year
