Production Supervisor

ABOUT US:AVK Syddal Limited is part of the AVK Group; who are market leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of valves, pipe fittings, hydrants and flow control equipment to the Water, Waste Water, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world.

At our site in Hyde, we are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead and develop our Operations team.

You will maintain all manufacturing processes, ensure the effective management of people & equipment and drive change in all aspects of manufacturing.


A strong and proven background in manufacturing / engineering is required along with successes in leading, mentoring and improving Operations teams.

This is a hands-on role and would suit an experienced Production Supervisor looking to contribute to the production strategy.

You will champion AVKs strength in Manufacturing and Engineering with a focus on our future resilience and growth.


ABOUT THE ROLE:


  • Lead the department to ensure productivity targets are met in line with customer demand
  • Supervise and motivate the production team to ensure agreed production targets are met on a continual basis
- ensure all production operations run smoothly and as planned

  • Liaise with appropriate Managers where production problems threaten effectiveness or efficiency
  • Ensure startup of production generates product, which complies with the appropriate product specifications
  • Support and supervise team leader in the duties encouraging development
  • Address personnel issues as necessary or coordinate senior management support
  • Manage at all times the condition of factory housekeeping
  • Attend daily planning meeting. Be the main link between sales and production (Ops, production, Planning, Purchase.)
  • Utilise and endorse company systems that strive to increase efficiency within the workplace
  • Carry out appraisals and training for direct reports and complete absence documentation
  • Identify lean activities to ensure efficiency savings
  • Ensure all 5s and housekeeping standards are maintained monitored on a continual basis

ABOUT YOU:


  • Recent and relevant experience within a production / manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Previous experience of running a team; particularly coaching, training and development
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages and the use of Navision
  • An enthusiastic selfstarter with the ability to motivate others
  • The ability to follow procedure and schedules whilst also possessing a desire to continually improve
  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to lead and influence all levels.
  • Experience and knowledge of lean systems and best practice
