Our Engineering client based in Birkenhead are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.


Position Summary:
Responsibility to support the Business Financial Controller and Financial Accountant.

To assist in the delivery of accurate and timely financial information and to help establish and maintain a robust control environment and a culture of continuous improvement.

To establish a collaborative relationship with the Shared Service Team, coordinating and supporting the team to ensure the Shared Service Scope is delivered.


Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Shared Service Team Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable scopes ensuring they are defined, delivered timely and accurately
  • Support the Financial Accountant to ensure the Shared Service Team General Ledger scopes are delivered timely and accurately
  • Work with the business to understand query root causes and improve the Procure to Pay Process
  • Support the Financial Accountant with the Monthly Close Process
  • Preparation and analysis of regular management information
  • Support the Preparation of detailed annual budget and monthly forecasts
  • Detailed cost variance analysis for each business area
  • Ensure that appropriate journals are posted to ensure relevant costs are captured in the financial statements
  • Management and reporting of Capital Expenditure across all business units
  • Actively participate in drive to reduce overall costs and improve labour efficiencies across all business units
  • Establish and implement Finance KPI's to measure and drive key business performance
  • Standardise, rationalise and document the Financial Processes to achieve synergies in the finance department
  • Perform other duties within your capability, training or experience that may be reasonably requested
  • Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements
  • Responsible for Handling and Storage of Data in line with Data Protection legislation
