About the role:


Based in our Edinburgh office, with the option of hybrid working, an opportunity has arisen for a capable and organised administrator to join our team to support the smooth running of the HR function.


As our HR administrator, you'll support the two HR Business Partners in delivering all aspects of the employee lifecycle and will be responsible for completing the associated HR administration, including tasks relating to payroll, recruitment, training, absence and holidays.


You'll also assist with projects that form part of our People Strategy in making Rettie a great place to work and be responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the project activity.


Key responsibilities:


  • Complete all HR and recruitment administration accurately, within required timeframes and to required compliance standards.
  • Be the first point of contract and field all HR general enquiries.
  • Support the HRBPs with employee relations cases.
  • Be the Personio (HR System) superuser, ensuring the platform is being used to its full potential.
  • Responsible for payroll preparation and information flow to the payroll team.
  • Prepare the HR weekly report and assist with preparing other adhoc metrics and reports.
  • Prepare and update the HR planner, assigning tasks and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Schedule and record employee training.

Key requirements:


  • Previous experience in an administrative role, where high attention to detail is required, preferably within an HR team.
  • Experience in working with data and systems.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.
  • A willingness to continually learn and expand your knowledge of employment law, HR practices, policies and procedures.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
