Portfolio Manager - London. Hybrid working
My client is a fast growth fintech operating in the Invoice Finance space.

After bringing an innovative proposition to UK Market 12 years ago - They now operate internationally, have a lending book of £4B in the UK and in 2023 have a focus on growth in theMid Market/Enterprise sector.

Responsibilities for the Portfolio Manager, Fintech

  • Be the primary point of contact between within your portfolio of clients. They will all have large facilities out with my client with min turnover of £15M
  • Effectively handle objections, manage complaints and escalations to provide the best outcome for the customer ensuring retention and positive brand in the market
  • Maximise a customer's experience and loyalty to the product by ensuring that they receive an engaging, professional, and understanding service characterised by accuracy and prompt resolution of queries or problems
  • Work crossfunctionally to devise creative solutions to risk, service, growth, and return challenges
  • Directly engage the Sales, Underwriting, and Onboarding teams to understand the customer prior to them joining your portfolio this will help to identify opportunities and risks In the future
  • Carry out customer visits, reviews and work to develop strategic relationships to support their business objectives
  • Carry out surveys and audits of customers as deemed necessary and when authorised to do so ensuring health of your portfolio overall
  • Provide indepth analysis of data and reports pertaining to your portfolio customers, you will work closely with a risk manager on this
  • Monitor the performance of the customer's sales ledger and control the risk to my client taking appropriate action to mitigate perceived risks where necessary
  • Work proactively with the Credit Control department to maximise ledger performance
  • Work directly with Underwriting and Credit Risk to manage and control risks, and present agreed solutions to customers
  • Obtain, where possible, new business leads to from your portfolio to increase the revenue from your portfolio this could be referral to new customers or new facilities out with existing
  • Ensure customer fees are appropriate to current and future funding requirements, and renegotiate where applicable

Skills we are looking for Portfolio Manager:

  • Past experience in portfolio management within an invoice finance/ABL, trade, or debt funding environment with proven delivery
  • Minimum 5 years relationship management experience, ideally within a senior lending level at some point
  • Experience engaging and working with or supporting customers with a turnover in excess of £15M
  • Proven experience in delivering customerfocused solutions based on finding innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers
  • Experience working within an environment of adoption of new processes/policies and/or consistent product change so you are happy to work in a fast paced changing environment
  • Experience working within a fintech with an understanding of process and/or endtoend customer success journeys
  • Proven ability to interpret complex financial accounts to identify both financial needs and manage portfolio risk
  • Proven strong negotiating skills with the ability to defend pricing for the business whilst balancing service and profitability for the customer
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
