We are looking for a Load Risk Assessor to join our team co-ordinating the safe moving and handling of our students.

In the first instance, this is a one year, Fixed Term Maternity cover contract.

The Vale Federation of Schools incorporates Booker Park Primary Special School and Stocklake Park Secondary Special School, across 3 campuses.

Booker Park School currently educates 237 pupils and Stocklake Park School 100 pupils, including a Sixth Form.

Our extensive facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, soft play centre, sensory & swing rooms, rebound trampoline, library audio suite and multipleoutdoor activity and learning areas, including a forest school.

Safeguarding Statement

Overview

We are looking for a Load Risk Assessor to join our team to assess loads and equipment and co-ordinate the safe moving and handling of our pupils with mobility problems across our schools.

This is a Fixed Term role for a one year maternity cover contract.

The Role

You will maintain the moving and handling equipment, ensuring it is suitable for use and oversee the sling safety check process keeping and maintaing accurate records.

You will be working across multi-disciplinary teams and modelling excellent practice at all times, ensuring that all staff have the correct and up to date training in moving and handling children and young people.

It is desirable that you will have experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs together with the knowledge and experience of slings and moving and handling equipment.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with members of staff, professionals and students.

Other personal qualities required for this role is a practical and problem-solving approach, an ability to work independently and as part of a team and possessing a good work ethic and attendance levels.
