This job advert is client specific. We are looking for a Personal Assistant to work with a client in Ashford.


Details are:


  • You will be supporting a male who suffers with a C5 spinal injury with livein care for a schedule of 2 weeks on and 3 weeks off.
  • You must like dogs and be willing to support with looking after them (walking and feeding).
  • You will be required to support with showering, dressing and transferring from chair.
  • You will be required to support with colostomy and suprapubic catheter care.
  • You will be required to support with meal preparation, light housework, medication support and regular stock checking.
  • You will be required to attend work and appointments with the client.
  • This client lives with his wife, and it is important to them both that they are able to live as a married couple, and have their privacy respected.
  • You will have your own separate annex for accommodation.
  • You will be able to work on your own initiative.
  • You will be hardworking and professional and prepared to support in the running of the client's family home.
  • You will have good English, excellent communication and effective engagement skills.
  • You will have good time and job management, always working to a high standard, quick thinking and have the ability to multitask.
  • You will be patient, sensitive and understanding.
  • You will be able to use constructive criticism and work well under pressure.

What you'll need:


  • A real passion for improving the lives of older people.
  • Ability to commit to your own prearranged placements.
  • A Basic Care Certificate don't worry if you don't have one already, we can help you gain this qualification through our external elearning partner.
  • A valid clean enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check in England & Wales or PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups membership) in Scotland (we can help you get one if you don't have one).
  • A minimum of 6 months professional experience working in adult or elderly care.
  • Ability to provide a minimum of 5 years references, including at least 2 professional references that Accolade Home Care can verify.
  • Good level of spoken and written English and the right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to attend a 2030 minute virtual interview, so that we can get to know you better.
  • The ability to manage your own work schedule.
