Job detailsDo you have Material Planner experience, and are you seeking a new job in Desford? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Material Planner for an initial 6 month contract with the possibility of extension, and the role comes with an umbrella rate of £17/hr (inside IR35).

The Material Planner role is primarily focused on maximising external supplier performance through understanding our supply network to drive the execution of planned and scheduled orders whilst also remaining focused on inventory management to prevent excess material within the network.

You will also be responsible for performing other job duties assigned by management.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment where every day is different, with the opportunity to work on multiple projects and help manage a complex supply chain in order to support high levels of manufacturing volume.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

Schedule exception management
Inbound shipment tracking and supplier shipping performance
Manage the timely shipment of material
Collaborate & negotiate with suppliers to deliver material per requirements
Monitor, track and analyse supplier performance metrics
General knowledge of production scheduling and capacity management Knowledge or experience in material control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, operations and transportation or logistics supply chain background
Good customer service experience as excellent communication skills are required
Ability to work in a high pressure role in a fast paced environment.
Strong attention to detail
Selfmotivation and ability to work independently and work to deadlines
