**Health and Safety Officer
Hartlebury / Kidderminster

PERMANENT

Salary:

Competitive, based on experience**
General Description:Office based role with regular UK travel covering the Health & Safety of projects and the installation and servicing of equipment and systems on customer sites.

To provide assurance that all sites, office and units are meeting legal compliance by supportingthe HSE Manager, Site Managers and Project teams.

The H&S officer will be required to manage all health & safety related topic including; liaising with the internal site project team and the clients representative to ensure effective communication, reviewing contractor risk assessments and competences, carryoutsite audits and prepare KPIs, carryout inductions, onsite awareness & tool box talks, accident investigation and ensuring legal compliance and adherence to best practice.


Main Duties, Operational Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Offer Health and Safety guidance to ensure employees, sub-contractors and visitors work in a safe manner and environment
  • Review project H&S documentation
  • Assist with reviewing and preparing risk assessments
  • Carry out new starter & site inductions
  • Develop and carry out H&S training as and when required
  • Undertake Health & Safety audits and issue reports for improvements
  • Assist with producing Construction Phase Plans and compile Health & Safety files
  • Provide site supervision of company and contractors activities when required
  • Carry out near miss and accident investigations
  • Give advice, guidance, support, to promote a positive health and safety culture
  • Liaise with clients and principal contractors when required
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility
  • Report on quality issue, on site and product related concerns
  • Assist in reviewing and improving the health & safety management system
  • Carry out internal ISO 45001 audits
  • Participate in external certification audits

Requirements of the Job:


  • Minimum
  • NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
  • Experience in an engineering industry
  • An indepth knowledge of health & safety legislation, guidance and in particular the current CDM regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Valid passport
  • Ability to travel overseas when required (Graz Head office or QHSE annual meeting)

Beneficial - not essential but maybe required to undertake training to achieve:
Experience in CDM site management
First aid at work
Tech IOSH working towards Chartered member of IOSH
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and general environmental management
Route cause investigation, 8D, Ishikawa, 5 why's analysis
