About the Role:

We are seeking a committed person to join our busy reception team at Ardleigh Surgery.

The role is 24.25 hours per week.

  • Tuesday 7.45am 1pm
  • Wednesday 7.45am 1pm + 2pm 6pm
  • Friday 7.45am 1pm + 2pm 6.30pm


You will be the front-line receptionist, helping patients to access the right services, assist with the keeping of health records up-to-date and accurate.


Main responsibilities include answering the phone:

opening post:
processing requests and general ad hoc admin tasks.

  • Applicants must demonstrate an enthusiasm for primary care, with a genuine interest in working with patients and the delivery of highquality health care.
  • Applicants should be courteous, highly motivated and able to project a positive and friendly image to our patients and visitors.
  • Applicants must have excellent communication and IT skills, be flexible and a team player.
  • Previous reception and administration experience is an advantage, but not essential as full training and support will be given.

About Us:

The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 98,000 patients.

With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.


As well as General Practice, we offer Extended Access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and Social Prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of Clinical Research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

We also work as three collaborative Primary Care Networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring:

  • Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery
  • Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre & Rowhedge Medical Centre
  • Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre & Wivenhoe Medical Centre


There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix.

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
