Initial 6 week contract (3 days per week), with ongoing periodic work potential


Current Team Size: 5

We're a small, remote team working across multiple time-zones.

There is a high degree of flexibility built into the role, and as a contractor you are free to define your own schedule, providing reasonable.


You'll be working closely with our creative director and lead programmer to produce 3D assets across a variety of environments.

You are someone who takes pride in your work and holds yourself to a higher standard than most.

You welcome constructive feedback, thrive in an autonomous environment and are comfortable owning environment asset production for a cross-platform title.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the development of ingame environment assets from the concept stage through to production.
  • Create optimised, gameready assets in 3D, including meshes, textures and materials.
  • Implement assets inengine, and help us to identify bottlenecks and implement key improvements to our art pipelines.
  • Weigh in on other areas of development, such as design, narrative and audio. As a small team, we like to ensure every team member is involved in the creative decisionmaking process.

Requirements:


  • A strong 3D environment art portfolio that shows your full range of creative and technical abilities ideally showcasing stylised work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills fluent in English.
  • A strong sense of independence and autonomy.
  • Creatively driven, technically minded, and detailoriented.
  • Ability to collaborate well, and stay sensitive to the needs of the team.
  • Highly motivated and adaptable, comfortable working within existing and evolving pipelines.
  • Comfortable adapting to the mínimalist visual style of our internal project.
  • Experience working with Unity to implement 3D assets directly inengine.
  • Proficient in 3D software such as Maya, 3DS Max or Blender, whatever works best for you
  • Proficient in 2D software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience delivering assets to detailed specifications.

  • Any scripting or shader writing experience, particularly as it relates to implementing or realising your ideas inside a game engine.
  • Experience with material and shader development pipelines and 3rd party tools, such as substance designer, substance painter, etc
  • Have contributed toward a number of released titles on any modern platform.
