The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Freight Operator to join Javelin's Logistics team reporting into the Head of Freight Operations.
This is a team of 18 employees spread across London, Singapore, US & India, with a tight-knit, collegiate atmosphere and uncapped potential to learn through the regular interaction with the Trading, Technology, Accounting and Documents/Settlements teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing voyage orders.
- Optimization of cargo intake & bunker requirements in coordination with chartering and trading desks.
- Agency appointments
- Minimize operational cost and control of voyage overall PNL results.
- Weather routing appointment and monitoring of ships performance at sea.
- Checking and approval of cargo documentation
- Issuing of freight invoice, hire payments and laytime calculation as required.
- Claims handling overview.
- Other adhoc responsibilities to develop over time.
Requirements:
- 23 years experience in a similar role
- Graduate ideally in a shipping/logistics degree
- Strong Excel skills. Familiar with shipping software ideally Veson
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with a global team
- A capable, enthusiastic individual who is a selfstarter, able to work under pressure and comfortable with taking initiative
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Selfmotivated and able to collaborate effectively with a global team.
