Job Description:

We are seeking a
Head of Group Projects Execution to work within our Projects & Development team who provide expert functional leadership from early-stage studies through to execution of projects for our investment owners to drive project value and turn Anglo American's vision into reality
.

This is an exciting position where you will be managing a number of high value capital projects to ensure successful execution of project outcomes in accordance with Anglo American standards and guidelines.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership of high value

Capital Projects:

establish priorities, set parameters for BU and site engagement and ensure alignment of objectives with Anglo American & P&D strategy.

Ensure that safety and quality are an integral part of project execution across all dimensions of the project & associated teams working on the project.
Continuous collaboration and integration with design engineering, technical and project planning teams to ensure the constructability profile of projects enables successful project execution.
Monitor project performance against established baselines and pursue opportunities to expedite project execution and realise capital savings.
Review project design and constructability concepts of projects throughout the project lifecycle, seeking opportunities to optimise fabrication, procurement and logistics for critical modules ensuring the development of a range of options to mitigate risk, improve capital efficiency and supports emulation across projects and geographies.
Review & mitigate the sustainability impacts of capital projects & operational impacts (legacy, current and future)
Actively engage with and lead execution teams to proactively identify and prioritise key project execution opportunities and risks.

Qualifications:

An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
Desirable: postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
Desirable: PMP (Project Management Professional) or any other accredited Project Management Certification
Significant project execution experience on a global basis
