Responsibilities:
About The Role
Medical Editors at Lucid work in close partnership with the Medical and Client Services teams to understand project and client needs, and deliver tailored high-quality outputs.
They also work closely with members of the Editorial team aligned to other client accounts to champion quality assurance and compliance processes and resources across Lucid.
Our Medical Editors are responsible for:
- Performing editorial reviews and checks of all medical and commercial projectrelated materials (including but not limited to: educational platform content, internal and external company communications, manuscripts, meeting reports, slide decks, standalone and symposium materials, video scripts and website copy) Proactively ensuring a good understanding of their accounts (clients, projects, therapy areas, etc) as required to provide excellent editorial input
- Ensuring adherence and alignment the appropriate style guide/s across their team, and maintaining any clientspecific style guides where relevant
- Working with Head of Editorial and Editorial leadership to develop and maintain quality assurance and compliance processes and resources, as required, to ensure consistent editorial excellence across Lucid
- Providing quality checks on peers' work to ensure adherence to briefs and style guides and use of Editorial checklists, and providing associated constructive feedback to peers and Editorial leadership to optimise performance and development plans
- Supporting Editorial leadership with identifying editorial development, training and mentoring needs within the Editorial team and account teams
- Creating and delivering editorial training sessions to address any gaps identified in the Editorial team and account teams
- Contributing to Editorial's operational efficiency and business performance by adhering to Lucid processes around timekeeping, resourcing and crossfunctional working
- Proactively managing their own workload and deadlines, and working with Editorial leadership to coordinate and communicate resource needs and plans across the Editorial team
- Fulfilling the role of line manager and supporting the development of line reports, ensuring awareness and implementation of associated Lucid processes and milestones
- Mentoring junior Editorial team members to support excellent editorial standards and personal and professional development
- Assisting in the recruitment of new Editorial team members by assessing test documents, attending interviews, and contributing to the decisionmaking process
- Supporting with the onboarding of new Editorial and account team members by providing editorial induction sessions relevant to the role and individual's needs
Qualifications:
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in a scientific, medical of lifesciences field or in a language
- Good attention to detail
- Experience managing own time in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment
- Experience editing a variety of print and digital/online materials for different audiences
- Excellent English language skills
- Proficiency in Adobe, Word, PowerPoint
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in training others
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Experience working collaboratively and efficiently in a crosscapability team
- Experience working within a healthcare communications agency environment
- Experience editing content for the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector
- Experience in reviewing Editorial colleagues' work
- Experience in coaching, mentoring or linemanaging others
