GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Data and analysis are of critical importance for AXIS.

As we continue the transformation into a data-led company, we need to ensure that there is a key point of contact between the people who leverage the data for analysis to support business decisions and the people create and maintain the data assets.

This role also leads the group that is responsible for delivering that information back to the users in a way best suited to their needs.

This serves several purposes: 1) it helps to ensure we are directing people to the appropriate, certified sources of data, 2) it allows us to look for opportunities to gain efficiency by through reuse of data and delivery assets, reducing development and maintenance costs, 3) it becomes the source of requirements for the data products group to help direct efforts to incorporate additional data sources or attributes into the core data sources and 4) it provides a way to consolidate demand for data, triage the requests and prioritize the responses.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data & Analytics Engagement Lead
  • International
is responsible for:

  • Overseeing / leading a team of Business Intelligence Analysts and Data Delivery that are the point group for data and information needs of the International Division of AXIS. Importantly, this team serves to meeting the information needs of the AXIS Managing Agency. These resources work directly with the business to understand information requirements and work with Data Delivery resources to develop appropriate solutions that provide solutions across the Division. This includes information needs that span underwriting and regulatory needs.
  • Provide direction to and set requirements for Information Analysts and Data Delivery resources to ensure that solutions:
  • Leverage common and certified data sources as much as possible to help ensure one version of truth
  • Develop solutions that can meet the broader needs of the organization to reduce maintenance efforts and costs.
  • Ensure that solutions meet the need while avoiding overengineering or customization to delivery efficient
  • Utilize consistent demand management processes along with the rest of the business engagement teams to triage intake of requests, determine the priorities and engage the appropriate resources to scope / develop the solutions. Processes should be transparent so that the business customers can understand where the requests sit in the priority order. Utilize and enforce standards for documentation as well as solution review processes to ensure there is a high degree of trust in the information provided.
  • Assess demand and resources and realign as necessary to deliver highest priority items. Develop budgets and staffing requirements at least annually based on projected demand.
  • Work with the Data Product team to expand the certified data sources to accommodate requests that require additional attributes or sources to be incorporated into the fundamental data sources.
  • Work with Data Product team to establish appropriate control and balancing sources and framework to ensure trust in information provided in the solutions.
