12 month FTC - AVP - Culture Communications Specialist

Overall Purpose of Job:


As a Culture Communications Specialist, you will be a key member of the internal communications team that develops highly creative communications that engage MUFG's employees in EMEA.


The role partners with colleagues across the region, working closely alongside EMEA Culture Committee workstreams to deliver high impact and engaging communications that supports our culture strategy and objectives.

The role also advises Human Resources (HR), Risk and business colleagues on best practice to drive awareness and adoption of employee engagement initiatives across the EMEA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Risk Culture and broader Culture strategies.


The Corporate Communications team is responsible for a range of key activities across EMEA, including executive leadership communications, employee-wide internal communications, brand and reputation management, media relations, website and digital channels.


This role works within the Corporate Communications team with the main ' ̃client' being the Organisation Development (OD) team within HR, which covers Talent, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Employee Experience and Engagement, Learning and Development, Early Careers, Expatriate Talent and Talent Acquisition.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Partner with OD, broader HR and key management stakeholders, with guidance from Head of Internal Communications EMEA, to create and deliver a comprehensive, innovative and engaging communications programme to support EMEA Culture initiatives (e.g. Employee Survey, DEI targets, Risk Culture and Conduct), networks (e.g. Employee Networks, Culture Influencers) and build further appreciation of the employee experience.
  • The programme would ensure key initiatives, reporting deadlines, events, awards and achievements are promoted and engaged with, both internally and externally, to show clear alignment with MUFG's values and strategic priorities.
  • Work with the Culture Committee workstream leads, HR and other key stakeholders (e.g. Wellbeing, ESG, Risk, Tech) to draft and execute creative and engaging communications.
  • Produce highquality, impactful content that leverages existing corporate communication channels.
  • Ensure KIZUNA's (MUFG EMEA's intranet) Culture content is current, driving employees to keep informed on culture programmes and initiatives and making KIZUNA the first port of call for employees. Utilise analytics to understand impact and volumes in order to inform the internal communications strategy.
  • Ensure alignment with Corporate Communications and Brand overall communications goals and plans.
  • Work with OD and HR to ensure that all communication channels are utilised effectively and creatively to ensure maximum reach to target audiences.
  • Develop new, engaging content for the external MUFG website to enhance the promotion of MUFG's Culture strategy and Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to prospective employees, clients etc.
  • Partner with global colleagues to leverage, share and build culture content and materials.

Work Experience

  • Highly strategic, innovative thinker, with experience in either HR or Corporate Communications, working in a fastpaced and everchanging environment
  • Proven experience in creating and delivering Culturerelated communications content and action plans that drive behaviour change.
  • Strong curiosity and desire to connect, bringing together the various elements of Culture and Engagement.
  • Excellent and accurate writer capable of navigating the requirements to serve for a diverse internal audience while at the same time, translating these messages into a workable format for external audiences as needed.
  • Proven ability to build good relationships, collaborate and seen as a trusted and dependable partner.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Prior experience within a fast paced multinational organisation a publicly traded and/or financial services company, such as banking, insurance or investment management, is preferred.
