THE ROLE
To catalogue, research and co-ordinate Impressionist, Modern & Contemporary Private Sales for the European Private Sales team.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cataloguing and researching items for Private Sales:
  • Providing expertise and cataloguing objects to the highest
  • Assisting and coordinating research, both internally and with external
  • Liaising with the necessary support
  • Working closely with the Head of Research for Impressionist & Modern Art
  • Producing Private Sales folios for prospective
  • Assisting specialists working on special research projects (collection books, shadow valuations, etc)
  • Write scholarly and commercial notes for Private Sale
  • Coordinate and write Proposals and Valuations as
  • Writing condition reports and responding to general
  • Work with the Private Sales Administrator, providing accurate information on all deals.
  • Managing and updating Private Sales running
  • Support departmental projects across Auction and Private Sales as
  • Operating at all times in accordance with the company's rules on compliance and corporate governance, maintaining high levels of expertise and professionalism in all activities.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Ideally educated to degree level in History of Art with a demonstrable interest in all categories of art.
  • The ability to work effectively individually and in a team and to 'pitch in' when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and a commitment to an exemplary level of client service.
  • Selfmotivated with ongoing enthusiasm to learn and develop
  • Have a flexible approach and the ability to work well under
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a methodical approach.
