Hours: 37.5 hours, Term Time Only

The Role
We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who will predominantly be supporting learning in Key Stage 1.


Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a class for short periods of time with prearranged educational activities.
• Work with groups of children or individuals to support the class teachers in specific lessons.
• Manage day to day routine tasks independently and effectively.
• Undertake administrative tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
• Supervise pupils at lunch and at playtime as a part of the staff duty rota.
• Assist with management and discipline in the classroom, the playground and around the school.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling pupils to feel relaxed and happy.
• Be prepared to attend courses to aid professional development.
• Be available to undertake any reasonable task that the Class Teacher, Deputy Head or Head may from time to time require.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential

• Qualified to at least Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience of working with younger children, including EYFS.
• Be supportive and encouraging with our pupils.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Commitment and passion for education in general.
• Resourcefulness and flexibility.
• Desire to be fully involved in the life of the school.
• Flexible; able to balance priorities in a busy school environment.

Desirable

• Good understanding of independent schools and their rationale
