East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work, delivering essential local services and making a real difference to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Planning Team as a
Project Coordinator in the established and growing
Energy Projects Team.

The Energy Projects Team was created to enable the council to be at the forefront of the numerous energy-related projects proposed in East Suffolk.

The team responds to and interacts with promotors of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, such as the new nuclear power station at Sizewell C and the offshore wind proposals in the East Anglia Array, as well as supports a number of other more local energy-related projects, including the operating Sizewell B station, the decommissioning Sizewell A station, extensions to existing wind farm arrays, and opportunities for interconnectors from Suffolk to Europe.

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to take lead responsibility for the provision of administrative and project support to the team.

This is a key role providing day-to-day coordination of the team's activities to ensure delivery of their aims and objectives, developing programmes and management tools to ensure deadlines are met, diary management, and ensuring the Council's role in responding to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and other major energy projects are achieved in a timely manner.

  • You will actively engage with promotors, partners and consultants to ensure projects remain on track and outcomes are successfully delivered. In addition, you will be responsible for organising and running events across the Suffolk system, undertaking research, producing research material, and preparing correspondence, newsletters, briefing notes and reports, as appropriate.
  • You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and you will need to have relevant experience in an administrative support role, including the coordination of meetings or events, minute taking etc.
  • Excellent organisational skills are therefore essential.

In addition to the rural and urban diversity of East Suffolk itself, the district is close to the large urban centres of both Norwich and Ipswich, with rail services providing access to the council's offices by train.

We might be 'on the edge' but we can be accessed easily from a wide area (jpg) **and offer flexible and remote working in a dynamic team.
