R_ Claims Executive - Construction Professional Indemnity


We have a new opening within the Marsh Construction and Infrastructure Practice, where 180 colleagues service all aspects of the sector both in the UK and overseas.

We are welcoming applicants who are seeking a challenging and rewarding career as a Professional Indemnity Claims Executive, dealing with claims on behalf of our Top Tier UK Contractor and Developer clients.

This client facing role is located in Birmingham/ London with flexible working options available.


You will join a dedicated international team of 40 claims professionals who work together to deliver successful outcomes for our clients every day.

What you will be rewarded with:

We will rely on you to:

  • Interact with our Top Tier Contractor and Developer clients in relation to their claims arising under their construction related insurance covers in conjunction with claims colleagues in our client service teams
  • Service professional indemnity claims for a portfolio of construction clients
  • Identify appropriate policy coverage on complex issues and analysis of notifications against the same in order to best assist clients in managing risk exposure
  • Provide of claims strategy advice, driving the claims process for clients, with supervision where required, including client claim review meetings, liaison with the insurance market and participation in active claim strategy discussion in order to manage the claims process from notification to closure
  • Interact with insurers and their professional advisors on complex claims queries and policy coverage discussions in order to ensure smooth review of claims for clients
  • Assess data, such as loss statistics, key trends, cost reduction opportunities and other information in order to support recommendations to manage and minimise the client's total cost of risk
  • Provide feedback to Claims Management and close interaction with Client Executive, Claims Advocacy and Claims Advisor colleagues including coaching and mentoring other team members where required
  • Liaise with the Operations team regarding claims processing and client feedback, escalation of issues where appropriate and overseeing designated key risk areas to facilitate smooth functioning of the claims process;

What you need to have:


  • Experience in Construction and/or Professional Indemnity claims
  • A desire to progress your career and work in complex claims management and advocacy in a client facing role as part of a full service team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation and persuasive engagement skills
  • An ability to "think outside the box"
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Ambition to succeed within a team environment
