Description

Our Communications Officer will lead in the delivery of a planned and integrated approach to Children and Family Health Devon's communications activity.


While they will be embedded in Children and Family Health Devon they will be supported and line managed by the communications leads at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.


The purpose of this job is to develop and deliver communications and engagement plans, make sure that staff hear about important announcements from us first and work closely with team members to ensure our communications are shared in a timely manner across all channels.


In addition, they will work closely with colleagues across all levels of our organisation and across all services, advising on internal and external communications and supporting programmes and projects as needed.

They will help us put our people at the heart of our communications and amplify their voices.

To implement a planned and integrated communications approach across our full range of channels and deliver against our communications plans

To lead on the day-to-day delivery of internal and external communications functions:

  • cultivating trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders
- working closely with the Communications Team in partner organisations to ensure key communications, awareness events and engagement events are shared
- leading on the content design, development and production to deliver timely, effective and engaging written, graphics/infographic, audio and video content to support our campaigns, activity and objectives
- leading on the response to media enquiries with support
- identifying opportunities to pitch good news stories to mainstream and trade media and to develop briefs
- undertaking specific communications activities such as social media posting, copywriting, film making, writing, design and print of publications and updating internal and external websites
- ensuring that all activities are delivered within budget, that feedback is gathered when required, evaluated and reports produced for review by senior managers/Executive Team to identify areas for development and improvement.

The role will support the Children and Family Health Devon senior leadership team to develop and deliver effective communications and engagement plans.


The role will also work closely with the communications teams at two of the partner organisations; Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, for professional development, support and guidance.


This is a really exciting time to be joining the CFHD team as its communications lead, with a recent rebrand roll-out to support and a new organisational direction.

To provide the internal communications function, drafting content, answering enquiries and posts

To manage and oversee the consistent roll-out of our brand and corporate identity
