Description

Production Engineer sought by successful £20m turnover manufacturing business, fully committed to investment in people, plant and technology where manufacturing processes span CNC milling (Mazak), fabrication, sheet metal, CNC laser cutting and folding.

You will maintain and develop the company's production processes and procedures, facilitating efficient manufacture by identifying, sourcing, introducing and maintaining machine tools/equipment and ancillary items such as fixtures, jigs consumables and buildingservices.

You will participate in the design and development of jigs, fixtures, tools and factory layout.

The Production Engineer will contribute to the development and implementation of methods, skills and systems that improve efficiencies and reduce waste and you will also work closely with the Production Manager and Factory Services Manager to prepare a scheduleof planned maintenance and ensure that all machines/equipment are operated safely and efficiently through user training.

Additionally the Production Engineer work closely with Production and Design colleagues to determine the most suitable production methods whilst minimising costs and optimising usage of materials, machinery, energy and services and with the Quality teamon the Continuous Improvement of the quality system.

The Production Engineer will ideally be apprentice-served and educated to ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering, and have knowledge of the manufacturing processes that the business utilises, in particular milling.
