The Public Affairs Adviser will work across farmed, wild and companion animal welfare issues at FOUR PAWS UK, increasing political stakeholder engagement at both national and devolved levels, and enhancing FOUR PAWS UK's reach and influence with their public affairs expertise.
This role is a unique senior political engagement position within animal welfare, where you will help create lasting and significant changes for animals worldwide, whilst focussing on national debates.

Your contribution will be- Working in collaboration with the Country Director to build strong working relationships between FOUR PAWS UK and MPs, Peers, Ministers, civil servants and researchers by delivering expert and compelling advocacy to secure improvements for animal welfare.
- Creating and delivering effective public affairs strategies, produce timely and reactive briefings, letters, writing of reports and speeches, and organise targeted events.
- Representing FOUR PAWS UK in coalitions, with external stakeholder groups and at external events where needed.
- Working collaboratively with the campaigns team to develop strategic policy driven campaigns, ensuring all relevant Government consultations are coordinated and responded to, whilst being a key communicator of our campaigns to the Government and politicians.
- Significant experience in political stakeholder engagement and representing an organisation
- Strong experience in working on policy issues, through the analysis of political developments to identify opportunities to influence policies and legislation that will improve animal welfare.
- A strong and confident communicator, including written and spoken English
- First class analytical and decisionmaking skills and works well under pressure, either alone or as part of a team
- A team player's mindset, yet able to take a stance on challenging issues
- Ethical, highest level of integrity and confidentiality
