ROLE SUMMARY
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance Lead and Global Partner role:
The Finance Lead role will collaborate with other members of the R&D/Business Development Finance team to deliver on the team objectives.
The Finance Lead will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to:- Financial management of the Pfizer CentreOne budget which includes annual revenue budget projections of of ~ $1.0B1.5B
- Serve as key financial support for Pfizer CentreOne business development activities including business case development, partnership agreement negotiations and due diligence support
- Utilizing a deep understanding of the research and development strategies and cost drivers to support development of global partner line growth plans including engaging and advising with global partner line executives on a range of strategic and operational matters including financial analysis to support investment decisions, prioritization
- Develop accurate and timely financial forecasts, provide detailed analysis and proactively identify and communicate issues, lead discussions on opportunities and/or risks and collaborate with management to resolve them
- Manages a team of finance professionals supporting Pfizer CentreOne operations
- Provide analytical support as necessary for key business decisions such as: resource prioritization and allocation, working capital management, and capital projects
- Analyze key business trends and proactively identify and communicate issues, opportunities and/or threats and collaborate with management to resolve them
- Build and maintain a diverse and inclusive team culture and support Pfizer's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion objectives within the business unit.
- Lead the annual Operating Plan process for Pfizer CentreOne including supporting resource and capacity optimization efforts
- Support the annual Operating Plan process for Partner Line R&D spend and contribute to the Portfolio Prioritization process, in collaboration with Strategy & Portfolio Management group to ensure optimal allocation of R&D spend and maximization of portfolio value within target
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and compliance with Pfizer policies and procedures, maintain strong internal control environment.
R&D UK Sandwich Site Finance Support:
- Backup support for ensuring the market's financial operations are aligned with statutory, legal, regulatory, and jurisdictional guidance
- Backup support advising R&D & country management on the proper statutory financial treatment for market specific strategies and plans
- Backup support providing local market intelligence and knowledge to support transfer pricing in market in conjunction with the OTP COE
- Maintains liaison with market Finance and Global R&D Finance Teams, as well as Global and Regional Tax, Treasury and Controllers regarding all significant financial issues. Represents the colead point of escalation between Country Manager, R&D Finance Partner, and rest of GBS organization
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant multidiscipline experience in finance roles with successful experience as finance business partner supporting complex businesses
- Demonstrated track record of organizational leadership and proven ability to grow talent and lead teams as well as develop strong partnerships across functions
- Experience in forecasting and scenario planning
- Possess excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with capacity to provide clear, concise and insightful analyses.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly identify problems and structure solutions.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to plan and prioritize work on multiple projects, while maintaining high quality and meeting or exceeding deadlines
- Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interface effectively and build relationships with all levels of management and colleagues in diverse functional areas of the Company
- Strong ability to lead, challenge, positively influence and drive change in a team and matrix environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Life Sciences industry experience
- MBA or CPA
