Legal Services - Junior Commercial Lawyer

Salary and benefits:
Up to £40,000 dependent on experience.

Location:
Head Office, Bradford with hybrid working (full time or part time)

As our colleagues are based throughout Yorkshire, a full, valid driving licence is required for this role

Purpose of role

Our Commercial Team has a varied and interesting workload, dealing with commercial contracts, public procurement, construction, commercial disputes, IT, data protection, and competition law.

As our Junior Commercial Lawyer, you will be providing legal adviceand support to our internal stakeholders to enable the effective and practical implementation of business objectives.

You will advise the business on its legal position, ensuring organisational duties, functions and activities are conducted within a soundcommercial and legal framework.

You will also:

Undertake legal work of a commercial/contractual nature, advising on a wide range of matters as required by colleagues across the business.
Manage a caseload of commercial contracts/advice files of varying complexity and value, ensuring that requests for advice are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner, supporting colleagues throughout the business up to senior management.
Provide competent, commercial legal advice on varied topics, including but not limited to, commercial contracts, construction contracts, commercial disputes, public procurement law, IT, data protection and competition law.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Essential
Our Commercial Lawyer will have a Law Degree or the GDL and/or the LPC. You will be able to work independently and be capable of managing your own caseload.

You will also:

Be enthusiastic and willing to challenge both yourself and your colleagues as you will be given every opportunity to take active responsibility for a variety of projects
Can build strong internal and external relationships and understand the importance of excellent stakeholder management
Demonstrate strong written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor information to your audience
