The HR Business Advisor provides comprehensive and professional HR advice and support to the Trust across a range of HR services.

The successful applicant will support in the drafting, monitoring and implementation of Trust HR/ Medical Workforce policies, procedures and practices throughout the organisation, ensuring these are in line with national guidance and employment legislation.

They will assist with the management of employment relations cases across the Trust in relation to disciplinary, performance, MHPS (maintaining high professional standards), attendance, grievance, bullying and harassment and raising concerns.

Ensuring due process and policies are followed in accordance with legislation, the Lead Employer where appropriate and in a timely manner.

The post holder will provide excellent customer service and develop a culture of continuous improvement.


We are currently looking for a HR professional who is qualified or working towards their CIPD graduate membership on a permanent basis.


This role will join a team that is flexible in their approach to work, working across Trust sites with the opportunity to work from home weekly as part of the Trust's Hybrid Working Model.


The successful applicant will act as first point of contact in providing proactive, professional and specialist HR advice, covering NHS and medical & dental terms and conditions to managers and employees across the organisation on a range of HR topics including employee relations, disciplinary, performance, attendance, grievance, bullying and harassment and raising concerns.


This is varied role where the successful applicant will need to be able to multi task, have excellent planning and time management skills, to be a team player and be prepared to move seamlessly from task to another.

You will have developed good interpersonal and communication skills during your career and have experience of providing HR advice and support for employee relations case management within a changing environment.


The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.


Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care, and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site.


Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies.

Division Support


Provide advice, support and guidance to managers and staff across the Trust in relation to disciplinary, performance, attendance, grievance, bullying and harassment and raising concerns.

Ensuring due process and policies are followed in accordance with legislation, good practice and in a timely manner.


Advise and support managers to take responsibility for people management issues, supporting with the identification of solutions to resolve employment issues.

Policy & Service Development


Develop policies and procedures and make recommendations on changes to existing policies and procedures in line with national guidance, employment legislation and good practice.

Explore new developments in employment legislation and national guidance to support


Ensure line managers and staff are trained and updated on Trust HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

HR Projects


Undertake HR project work as requested by the Workforce and OD Business Partners, including projects for the delivery of workforce strategy and national initiatives.

Workforce Information and Reporting


Undertake the analysis of workforce information and prepare HR reports making use of qualitative, quantative research and data and provide recommendations from the analysis.

Change Management


Provide support and advice to managers in minor and moderate change programmes ensuring that change takes place smoothly and as seamlessly as possible in line with policy, ensuring there is well-timed and effective communication with staff and their representatives.
