Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

The role will be part of our Aberdeen Engineer Hub. This is a multi-client and multi-discipline engineering and design team.


This vacancy is primarily to support an upcoming FEED study on a Flare Gas Recovery project for a major oil & gas operator in the North Sea.

The role is an excellent opportunity to be involved in decarbonisation projects.

The FEED study is expected to start in April 2023 and run for 6 months before moving into detail design.

The project will be run out of our Aberdeen office however remote/hybrid working will be considered.

Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:

  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business
  • Coaching and mentoring as delegated
  • Manage and supervise direct reports
  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
  • Provide discipline support to the business
  • Ensure selfawareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports
  • Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution
Skills /

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ISCED level 5 shortcycle tertiary education in engineering discipline

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • A full understanding of the materials and methods normally used in their discipline
  • An understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required
  • Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs and Line Lists
  • Competent user of CAD/D software
