About the Office of Government Property


The Office of Government Property (OGP) supports government and the wider public sector in managing their estate more efficiently and effectively.

We not only help to deliver the finest public services, we support the government's priorities by unlockingsurplus land for housing, and encourage the creation of public service jobs outside London to support economic growth through the Places For Growth programme.


We depend on the availability of comprehensive, up-to-date and usable data to help driveefficiencies and inform estates strategies across government.

Our Data and Analysis team manages a large central database of governmentproperties and land, whichis used by central government departments, the devolved governmentsand wider public sector.


About the role


You will take the lead on scoping, creating and maintaining analytical outputs to support a range of programmes across the OGP and informthe strategic decisions of OGP and Cabinet Office Ministers.

We analyse the short
- and long
- term impacts of a rangeof complex policy questions including civil service relocations, asset disposals, place-based decision-making and one public estate.

Supported by a team of analysts, you will define information requirements for management and business intelligence purposes,and work alongside senior stakeholders to reflect solutions in outputs such as models and insights.


Your expertise will be critical to implementing a transformational information strategy and creating an analytical centre of excellence within OGP to support advanced Excel-based modelling, and business intelligence, as well as Power BI and Tableau basedvisualisation and reporting.

As a champion of best practice in modelling and analytical standards, you will ensure a consistent look and feel, as well as assurance and integrity checks, for analytical products.


About the person


Able to lead analysis in support of complex policy problems, you'll be proficient in Excel-based business and financial modelling and have a good general understanding of business intelligence tools.

Your exceptional communication skills mean you can presentcomplex technical messages to senior stakeholders using data storytelling and visualisation. Some familiarity with Tableau, Tableau Prep, Python and SQL is expected - although additional training can be provided. This is fast-paced, dynamic environment soyou'll need to be highly adaptable, and comfortable working to tight deadlines. Commercial acumen is critical.
