Description

As a Toolmaker, your responsibilities include designing and manufacturing tooling, jigs and fixtures as requested using CAD/CAM and Cerro software.

You will also undertake or arrange maintenance on production tooling, jigs and fixtures as required.

Description

  • Manufacture prototype and special parts as requested.
  • CNC programming knowledge required.
  • Resolve engineering and design problems being reported during the manufacturing process.
  • Assist in providing engineering detail drawings and support to sub contactors as required.
  • Recognise and report opportunities for tooling to assist/improve the manufacturing process.
  • Recognise, remedy or report failings in skills, equipment, or procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement

The role supports all our manufacturing processes across the site, Brass Gravity Casting department, Soldering & Tube bending department, CNC Machine shop, Metal finishing department, Plating department.


Profile
Apprentice trained in a tool room / engineering environment (Approx.

4 years) (With a City & Guilds or HNC Qualification) and have time severed as a conventional tool maker for approximately 15 years which gives the required experience.


They will also have:

  • A time served engineering background
  • Experience using manual Lathes, Millers & surface grinders, CNC HASS Mini Mill.
