Role Description:


  • Reporting into the Global Head of Compensation, the EMEA Head of Compensation provides strategic compensation leadership to the EMEA region.
  • Managerial responsibility for 6 team members, with responsibility for coaching/motivating staff, performance management and career development.

Key Role Responsibilities:


  • Manages the regional coordination of all pay and incentive processes, in partnership with the Global Business Compensation Partners to ensure consistent implementation of global compensation policy, practice and process.
  • Partners with Global Compensation function to integrate EMEA Regulatory requirements into the design of our Global Compensation Framework
  • Acts as key advisor and partner with HR divisional teams and directly with the business and external consultants to implement and deliver BNY Mellon's strategic compensation goals within the EMEA region.
  • Advises on best practice and brings external perspectives to strategic and operational business discussions to ensure strategies and programs are aligned to business strategy.
  • Acts as key advisor to all Management & Supervisory Boards within EMEA on Compensation matters.
  • Key advisor to International CEO on all matters relating to Compensation
  • Leads on regulatory reviews and implementation for EMEA and related subsidiaries, including managing the Material Risk Taker review process and Remuneration Policy Statement.
  • Works closely with the Regional Finance team, HR Operations Managers, HR Business Partners and Recruiters on a range of information and process requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Assists the Head of Reward for BNYM European Bank with all regulatory and compensation issues within the entity, working with EEA management and providing oversight of materials prepared and presented to both the Remuneration Committee and the Joint Sessionof the Remuneration and Risk Committees.
  • Encourages and leads continuous improvement protocols in work products or processes.
  • Manages and executes mediumtolarge complex compensation projects/initiatives that are cross functional and global in nature.
  • Defines and manages the project lifecycle from initiation through to project completion, including, but not limited to, UK/Ireland Gender Pay Gap Reporting
  • Provides consultation and advice on M&A activity regarding compensation issues.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbally and in writing); able to articulate complex information in a clear and simple manner to a variety of audiences
  • Strong leadership; calm presence and ability to instill confidence in key stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Consummate professional; able to navigate a matrixed organization

Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience in a similar role required. Previous supervisory/management experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of technical and legal aspects of compensation and HR within Financial services preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
