Description

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic clinical /counselling psychologist to provide psychology input to a 0.6 wte band 8a post within NHS Forth Valley Clinical Health Psychology service.

The Clinical Health Psychology service has seen significant expansion over recent years and currently has psychologists embedded in cancer, diabetes, chronic pain, MACH, ICU, maternity, neonatal & perinatal, physical and specialist rehabilitation, FND and stroke teams as well as offering a neuropsychological assessment and intervention service.

We also host a General Medicine service to patients whose physical health care is delivered by acute medical teams with no embedded psychologist.

This post provides a flexible opportunity to deliver clinical assessment and psychological interventions to a range of patients with long term conditions including those referred to the General Medicine service, those with Type 1 diabetes and those with chronic pain.

Clinical focus will be flexible according to changing service need and so provides an opportunity to develop a portfolio of clinical experience across various health conditions.

Alongside delivering therapy to patients, the post holder will provide psychological consultancy to medical MDTs and champion psychologically informed care to be delivered by allied health professionals.

The post holder will contribute to the wider Clinical Health Psychology service through involvement in referral management and will have the opportunity to be involved in service development initiatives both within Clinical Health Psychology and across the wider Psychological Therapies Service.
