We are seeking an experienced EmployerEngagement Officer to join our AEB teamto support residents from the Birmingham and Walsall area to access employmentand upskilling opportunities.


Responsibilities of the role:


The role of Employer Engagement Officer is to work withemployers across Walsall and Birmingham, providing advice and guidance as tohow we can support them both in the recruitment of new staff and in the upskillingof their current staff, through a variety of funding streams.


As part of this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for developingand maintaining employer relationships across Walsall and Birmingham areas (WS1,WV12, WS10) & (B23, B24, B25, B26, B28, B33, B34, B35, B42, B44).
  • Collaborate with employers toidentify staffing needs and assist in the recruitment process in order to gainsustainable employment opportunities for unemployed learners.
  • Assist employers in accessingand maximising funding opportunities to meet their workforce objectives and to enhancethe capabilities of their current staff.
  • Attend industry events,networking functions, and relevant forums to establish and expand connectionswith employers.
  • Provide regular reports onkey performance indicators and the impact of engagement activities.
  • Maintain relationships withcurrent account managed employers.
  • Use of variety of marketingtechniques to bring new employers on board.
  • Work closely with Tutors andBusiness Development to ensure an understanding of what employment sectors meetthe needs of the learners, and also feeding back to Pathway the local labor marketneeds.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience of sales/recruitmentwithin the skills and training sector, developingproductive relationships with employers, partners, and external agencies.
  • This role will require regulartravel across the region so you must have a full driving licence, access toyour own vehicle and business insurance.
  • Good knowledge of local labourmarket and growth sectors
  • Good knowledge of thegeographical areas covered as above.
  • Ability to effectivelycommunicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken,written, behavior)
  • Excellent negotiation andinfluencing skills
  • Selfmotivated, highenergyindividual
  • Ability to proactively manageown workload and multiple priorities with excellent organisation and timemanagement skills
  • Works well to targets and fixeddeadlines
  • Computer literate (MS Word,Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
