Role and Responsibilities


We are recruiting for a People Advisor to join our commercial aviation Training Centre in Gatwick, initially on a fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent after a 12th month period.

In this position, the HR Advisor will collaborate with the HR Manager and the Area HRBP regarding all aspects of HR, including policy interpretation and design, performance management, employee relations, investigations, partnering with recruiting, HR reporting, rewards and recognition, compensation, employment law, training and development, talent management and succession planning, organizational planning, and key projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the HR Manager and HRBP to deliver programs to support development, employee engagement and retention.
  • Connects regularly with Group Leaders and Office Leadership to provide timely updates, discuss key people priorities, and collaborates to align people strategy with business needs
  • Attends and presents at staff and leadership meetings
  • Acts as point of contact for employees to get guidance or support related to our people practices, policies, and systems
  • Collaborates with colleagues in the Centers of Expertise (COE) to deliver seamless client service across talent acquisition, mobility, total rewards, and learning & development
  • Talent Acquisition (TA) partners with TA team to ensure recruitment strategies are aligned with business needs; evaluates recruitment effectiveness, participates in interviews as required and helps drive recommendations in change of recruitment focus or strategy if necessary
  • Uses a consultative approach to advise and coach supervisors on employee relations matters; systems implementation; performance management; company policies; and other people related topics
  • Partners with and supports HR manager and HRBP in Works Council relations, including negotiations
  • Works jointly with the HR Manager and HRBP on complex employee relations issues and support internal investigations as needed
  • Coordinates payroll processing with third party provider, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Administers data in global HR systems, including HRIS, absence tracking, payroll, payroll and benefits, and trains and assists employees and supervisors on the use of these systems
  • Manages new employee onboarding program with crossdiscipline teams
  • Conducts exit interviews
  • Contributes to local and regional HR projects as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years of generalist experience and ideally knowledge of British employment law and practices.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation (preferable)
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken and other language would be an asset, preferably French
