Role summary/purpose of job


This will be an important role in the CDG's innovation efforts; engaging with stakeholders across the firm, including but not limited to; partners, associates, CDG colleagues, IT colleagues and third party vendors, ensuring the firm and our matter teams are utilising best in class innovation and legal tech tools.


This role will be expected to advocate for the solution catalogue delivered by the CDG, whilst also developing proposals for new solutions the CDG can adopt.

The individual will act as a trusted advisor to the CDG leadership team; providing legal tech and innovation expertise, ensuring the CDG is fully up to date with regards to all legal tech developments and identifying internal and external opportunities for collaboration.


This role will be expected to support the delivery of the function-wide strategy by increasing engagement across the CDG and wider firm on best in practice innovation and legal tech tools.

Function Overview


You will be joining Client Delivery Group at a fantastic time, as the group continues to support the delivery of the firm's strategy.


Key responsibilities and deliverables- Engage with partners and associates to advocate the use of the existing Solutions and develop proposals for new Solutions in the CDG, working alongside the CDG Leadership Team.- Maintain data on the use of innovative tools and ways of working in the delivery of legal services, whilst also scanning the industry to understand what competing law firms are adopting in the legal tech space.- Deliver workshops, internal innovation presentations and engagement activities around the Solutions.- Horizon scan for market and innovation opportunities, and keeping up to date with the legal landscape in respect of innovation and ways of working relevant to our practices.- Liaise with vendors and clients on potential collaboration opportunities and keeping up to date with vendor developments in the legal market.- Ensure the right and appropriate tools and toolkits are reviewed on a regular basis in respect of the service offering from the Client Delivery Group.- Act as a spokesperson and leader for external and internal audiences on innovation at the firm; within the CDG.- Lead the firm's internal communications for all innovation activities, including TechZone (and its future replacement), Around the Firm newsletters, Team Briefs and working with the communication/marketing team on the same.- Support in mapping out Solutions to be delivered by the CDG and working with the delivery teams.- Play an active leadership role in embedding culture and values across the team and supporting the firm's culture within the CDG.- Support on training and awareness initiatives, with others across the CDG, across the firm focused on the business outcome of embedding our innovation and CDG activities directly in the firm's practice groups and work with the learning and development team on the same.- Work with the CDG leadership re.

the firm's participation in innovation/CDG related conferences with a cross-functional team on sponsorship, stand design, theme ideation, speaker presentations and invitee list.- Review competitor offerings in the innovation / legal tools space and maintain a market intelligence report that is distributed to key stakeholders on a quarterly basis.- Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies across the CDG through the utilisation of legal tech and innovation tools and provide strategic innovation input into process improvement activity.

Key requirements

  • Essential_
  • Good track record in innovation programme delivery and planning.
  • Extensive experience in innovation/technology strategy and consultancy.
  • Infectious enthusiasm for technology and driving change in organisations.
  • Prior people management experience.
  • A savvy and smart operator, flexible in approach.
  • Strong presentation skills and proven track record of running successful internal and client/customer workshops.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Strong design/UX skills, particularly in putting together presentation materials.
  • Team player, inclusive leadership and management approach with strong ethics.


  • Desirable_

  • Experience in a law firm and / or professional services firm.
  • SharePoint experience.
  • MultiTaction multitouch displays (not essential but must have a can do attitude to learn).
