We have an exciting opportunity on our Inpatient Ward and Assessment Unit for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of paediatric nursing staff.

Working alongside Registered Nurses, AHCAs, Hospital Play Specialists, medical and surgical colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team

This is a permanent post for 37.5hrs/wk. Support will be given through induction and ongoing training.


You will need to have an understanding of the needs of children in hospital, a knowledge of child development and the importance of play for children.

You will need excellent communication skills, listening and resonding to children, parents/caers and the wider team. An understanding of the care needs for children in hospital is important, along with knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes


As a member of the nursing team you will undertakes duties and have responsibilities for direct patient care, cleanliness of the ward environment, undertaking safety checks and administration tasks.

Duties will be assigned by and carried out under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.


Where additional skills training is identified as required by the job description, the post holder will not undertake these duties until training has been undertaken (except as part of the supervised learning experience).

Duties within this job description will be delegated by a Registered Nurse.
