About the role
:

In this fantastic early career development opportunity, you will play a pivotal role as a Purchasing Assistant in the Asset team.

You will use your judgement, organisational abilities, and communication skills to manage the delivery of equipment purchases, from purchase order confirmation through to successful installation.

Our team provides an expert equipment procurement service to biotech customers in the UK and USA, from one-off equipment purchases, to large tender projects.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, experience, and knowledge in a supportive work environment, while we undergo an exciting period of growth within a scaling business.

This would be a great opportunity for an ambitious graduate, or someone with a customer support background.

What will you be doing?:

  • Our Equipment Buyers manage the tender, negotiation, and decisionmaking part of the purchasing process. You will then take ownership to ensure the orders are processed accurately by suppliers and delivered seamlessly.
  • You will quickly learn about the equipment buying process, seeking to understand any customer restrictions or requirements around the installation as well as how the suppliers, manufacturers and engineers manage delivery.
  • Using your knowledge, you will provide a high standard of customer service, solving issues and delivering results, doing whatever it takes to get a great resolution
  • You will report back to project teams and customers on order status and manage any issues or changes liaising between customers and suppliers.
  • You will support the rest of the team, helping them and building your knowledge on the whole purchasing process.

What are we looking for?:

  • Ideally, experience in a similar role.
  • You will thrive in a fastpaced environment, be great at organising your time, priorities and ensuring you meet any deadlines.
  • You will have an investigative mind, keen to understand any situation, and creative in your problem solving.
  • You will enjoy communicating, articulating summaries, and highlighting issues along with solutions. You will be able to confidently communicate with a range of audiences, both internally and externally.
  • You will have a 'can do' attitude, with the ability to 'flex' and perform as a strong team player.

What's in it for you?:

We offer a fun, dynamic and vibrant environment where people are supported to do their best work, and everyone has the opportunity to make a difference.

As a company, we never stop investing in our culture. We appreciate that empowering, motivating and developing our people offers a challenging, fun and rewarding experience for everyone.
