As the Maintenance Person you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the standards of the home are maintained.

Main duties of the role:

Undertake all routine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work as requested by the Home Manager or Estates Manager.
To check the maintenance request book for tasks to be completed.
Set priorities of maintenance tasks with the Estates Manager and review regularly.
Keeping accurate records and providing a report to the Estates Manager and Home Manager on a weekly basis.
On a weekly basis undertake tasks checking and documenting the fire alarm test and routine checks of the fire doors security doors, and window restrictors and emergency lighting checks.
On a monthly basis undertake delegated responsibilities for the visual check of the firefighting apparatus e.g., extinguishers.
Checking of water temperatures of sinks, baths on a monthly basis.
Cleaning shower heads and waste traps.
Change light bulbs and clean light shades or fittings as required.
Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.

Other requirements:

Experience in general repairs/maintenance
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Good problem solving skills and able to manage priorities
Driving license/car owner is preferred
