An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to be part of our Children's and Young Adults Intensive Support Team for Coventry and Warwickshire.

If you are a driven and passionate and want to work with Autistic children and young adults and/or children with learning disabilities who have additional mental health needs and are at risk of admission to hospital, then we want to hear from you.

The team cover the whole of the Coventry and Warwickshire geographical area and the base will be Paybody, Coventry.

The team currently work Monday to Friday 9-5 with expected flexibility to start later or finish later occasionally if there is a clinical need.

The team currently follow a hybrid model of working remotely, in the community, or in one of the community bases.

The Children's Intensive Support Team started as a pilot project over 4 years ago.

The team have been successful in supporting a number of Autistic children and children with a learning disability with additional mental health needs, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.

Due to the success of the team, additional funding has enabled the scope to include young adults up to 25 years of age.

As travel is anintegral part of this post, car owner/driver.


We are looking for Assistant Psychologist's with experience working with children, young people and/or adults with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and/or mental health.

The role will support the Clinical Psychology team within IST and part of your role may include carrying out clinical observations, administering and scoring standardised assessment tools, carrying out developmental histories and parent/carer interviews as well as individual assessment work with the child/young person.


Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry and Warwickshire.


Services are provided to a population of over one million people living in Coventry and Warwickshire, and also a wider geographical area in some of our specialist services.

We see on average around 5,000 patients every day.


The Children's Intensive Support Team works across Coventry and the whole of Warwickshire (north and south) to provide additional therapeutic support for the families whose young people are most at risk of inappropriate admission to Tier 4 hospital.


We sit within the Learning Disability and Autism Directorate and as such we are part of a large multi-professional group which offers the opportunity for knowledge and skill sharing.

There will be opportunities for Continual Professional Development, regular clinical supervision and participation in Reflective Practice Groups.

Whilst we sit within this directorate, a higher proportion of the young people we support fall within Rise (CAMHS) with whom we also have strong links.


The role will also include maintaining and analysing data such as assessment and therapeutic outcomes to help guide service development and ensure the service is meeting the needs of its population and staff.
