We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, flexible, polite and well presented team member to join our busy GP Surgeries at Cantilupe and Hampton Dene in Hereford.

This role is 20-23 hours a week with options for more in busy times.

You will need to be keen to learn, have a good standard of education, a positive out look, a good sense of humor please.

If you can work on your own initiative, be supportive of colleagues, whilst being part of a busy team of receptionists, this job is for you.

You will be one of 10 receptionists, working over 2 sites. You will need to be flexible and ready to help as patient need requires. Overtime for annual leave or sickness is vital for the role.

Main duties of the job
Duties of this position include

• Taking calls from patients, performing care navigation to ensure that they are given appropriate advice and redirection if necessary to other organisations.
• Booking patients into the days triage list where appropriate or booking them in advance.

- booking appointments by phone for nursing and other team members.
- dealing with patient queries,
- dealing with prescription requests and actioning them appropriately
- keeping patient data up to date,

You will need excellent IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook if possible. Previous use of EMIS clinical system an advantage.

Flexibility is essential as you will be expected to provide additional hours to cover 7.45 am starts, 7pm finishes, annual leave and sickness at both sites as the need arises and often at short notice.

Excellent communication skills, a polite telephone manner, ability to work under pressure and understanding of patient confidentiality are essential.
