Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the rapidly innovating children and young people's Eating Disorder, and the Acute General Paediatrics department.

The LLR region has approved a 12 month pilot role that will work collaboratively across two organisations; as a Consultant Paediatrician within the Leicester Children's Hospital, and supporting the children and young person's eating disorder team within Leicester Partnership Trust (
LPT) (community provider) with the aim of improving the care pathways for children and young people with mental health, and eating disorders in both the community, and in the acute hospital.

We are looking for a Locum Consultant to join the team, working as a General Paediatrician with special interest in Eating Disorders.

The role is split equally between the
LPT CYPEDs team, a multi-disciplinary team who look after the care of young people with eating disorders up to the age of 18 years across the LLR region, and the Leicester Royal Infirmary General Paediatrics team, a major acute children's hospital.

This is a 12 month pilot role, with the intention to progress into a permanent role post 12 month pilot, supported by the Mental Health initiative within the LLR ICB.

The post holder is supported by; a wide MDT with experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, community nurses, occupational therapists, with trainees of all disciplines within
LPT; and is supported by a dedicated Clinical Mental Health lead, and dedicated dietician, along with 16 dedicated General Paediatricians in the wider team.

This is a very exciting time to join our team and help develop our service as we continue to evolve.

This permanent post is suitable for doctors who wish to not only develop a special interest and skills in Paediatric Eating Disorders and Young People's Health but to share this expertise in the locality to improve standards of adolescent care.

The overriding purpose of the role is to support the provision of highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement for CYP with Eating Disorders.

This includes responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the service and department.
