The starting salary for this position is £29,291 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. The role is offered on a 6-month fixed-term basis.

Our Team operates in a flexible,
hybrid style which currently looks like two days a week working together in the office and three days a week
working from home - or wherever you feel most productive.

We will ensure that you receive a full induction and training with regular guidance, support and performance conversations with your Team Leader; we want you to feel confident and capable in your role.


As a
Travel and Assessment Officer you will be part of the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate and will join our Transport Coordination Centre team who are responsible for the delivery of transport options for a number of our service departments.


In this role you will report into the Travel & Assessment Eligibility and Delivery Team Leader and be one of 20 Officers within the team.

The work you do will be vital to support the planning and procuring of cost effective and safe transport for a wide range of council customers, including mainstream and children/young people with SEND going to school/college, and vulnerable adults going to day centres.


To make sure we are continually offering the best services we can, you will regularly review transport arrangements and implement any changes required, including identifying efficiency improvements and implementing these on an ongoing basis to reduce transport costs.


In this role you will be actively involved in ensuring the data we hold on our transport software system is accurate and well maintained, so that we can provide effective scheduling and accurate management information.


Assisting with pupil behaviour management on transport, in liaison with parents and schools, will also form part of your role.
