This role sits within the Credit Card team which is responsible for managing the end-to-end product experience, outcomes and commercial success.

You'll work with a team to help manage the day-to-day relationship between Nationwide and our key third-party supplier.


In this role you'll focus on full cost management of the outsourced service by business partnering internal stakeholders of our third party supplier to ensure budget variance is fully analysed and understood.

You will drive completion of financial month end tasks such as accruals, prepayments, cross-charging, rebate management and detailed analysis to proactively support management decisions.

Your success isn't based on how long you spend at your desk. You'll have contracted hours, but we're always happy to support flexible working wherever we can.

What you'll be doing:


Effective management of the relationship with our third-party supplier is key to the success of credit card and ensuring they are held to account against their contractual objectives is vital.

We are looking for somebody who will be able to maintain ledgers and budgets whilst working under their own initiative and prioritising workload effectively.


As Business Partner within Credit Card you'll:

  • have an in-depth knowledge of our cost structure and be able to identify anomalies and trends to professionally question costs whilst representing Nationwide's strategic, operational, and commercial interests at a detailed level
- ensure completion and submission of accurate month end reporting, including insightful variance commentary and seeking opportunities to optimise supplier performance,
- work alongside our Business Support Analyst within the team, supporting and developing where required
- work closely with the team manager to support internal business needs whilst seeking opportunities to optimise supplier performance
- establish constructive relationships with the Nationwide and 3rd party finance teams to ensure all rebates and queries are closed within agreed timescales
- create an atmosphere of confidence and accountable freedom to deliver the solutions, developing and maintaining strategic, commercial, and operational relationships.
- identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiencies of our processes and working practices


About you:

Playing a key role within the team means as a minimum you'll have:

  • proven stakeholder management and collaboration skills, building strong relationships with colleagues across the Society and ideally a third-party supplier to help achieve joint outcomes
- ability to analyse data and identify trends tracking them on an ongoing basis
- commercial and financial acumen with strong financial and budgetary understanding
- strong attention to detail with the ability to independently identify and resolve tasks


and ideally, you'll have:

- an understanding of Credit Card products and ideally knowledge of Nationwide's products and processes
