We're looking for a Product Lead to:

  • Support the delivery of Starling's retail strategy (across assets & liabilities)
  • Nurture a culture of customercentricity, creativity and innovation
  • Deliver consistently excellent control and governance outcomes, whilst proactively identifying any potential customer and/or business harm and managing controls for these risks effectively
As a Product Lead you would support the Director of Customer Outcomes to:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that appropriate governance is carried out at all stages of the product life-cycle, and to help deliver new retail products/ongoing enhancements to the existing retail proposition.
  • Support on the production of regular product reviews in order to identify areas for improvement and product risks emerging. Working alongside the relevant business areas to gather inputs and ensure alignment of conclusions. Responsible for tracking improvement actions and ensuring these are followed through to completion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Product and Engineering teams to help prioritise improvements that will enhance the customer journey and mitigate risk.
  • Work closely with 2nd Line Compliance and Legal to ensure that new retail products or any changes made to existing retail products meet regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Regular monitoring of Product MI to ensure retail customers are experiencing good outcomes, and identifying early triggers and areas for improvement.

Requirements:


  • Significant experience in retail banking product ownership, including online.
  • Change and delivery experience across Savings and Current Accounts, supporting crossfunctional teams to deliver product and regulatory initiatives
  • Experience of Product monitoring and building effective MI across customer journeys
  • Analytical and critical thinking, with the ability to take a problem solving approach and to analyse information and situations and generate recommendations and solutions.
  • High level of integrity, energy and sense of urgency to make things happen.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to manage relationships and drive positive change to enhance the customer journey and retail product proposition.
  • The ability to pick up a project or task and run with it independently, building a well thought through plan of next steps, and actioning these without awaiting instruction
  • The ability to selfsolve problems, where blockers are encountered, the role holder must know when to escalate to senior colleagues, providing a recommended way forward
  • Flexibility to work in ambiguous situations and support customer and business priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of media (written and verbal) to a wide range of audiences customer, stakeholders, external bodies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
