Working time:
10 hours per week Monday - Friday
11.45am-1.45pm-Term time plus 5 inset days

PURPOSE OF POST

• The core purpose of this role is to provide effective support to the Catering Manager through the ability to prepare food to a high standard.
• To take payment (using a swipe card system) for food bought by pupils/staff.
• To assist in the main kitchen as required

POST RESPONSIBILITIES

• To help prepare high quality meals for pupils and staff.
• To maintain high standards of food hygiene in the kitchen in accordance with domestic and catering standards and adhere to the requirements of Level 2 award in Food Safety and Hygiene at all times.
• To ensure supplies are stored in accordance with domestic and catering standards.
• To support the cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen, canteen and seating area.
• To maintain daily contact with staff and pupils at the school to ensure a quality service

is maintained.
Complete individual training and development as required.

• Comply with school policies and procedures. The required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
• To promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity.

• Holding of a current Level 1 award in Food safety and Hygiene. Desirable

Experience
Understanding of health and safety and good hygiene practice in the kitchen.

Experience working within a catering / food environment.

Experience working within a school environment.

• Ability to cope with periods of high demand and prioritise workload accordingly, meeting all deadlines.
