We are looking for a hardworking and dedicated individual to join our warehouse picking team to ensure our outgoing product is handled, stored, picked and packed to ensure safe onward delivery to our customers.

What is the job?


The Warehouse Operative is required to extract product from bin locations (this can be up to 6 metres in length), to fulfil customer orders, using hand-held scanners and placing the required products into containers, ready for despatch to the customer.

The hand-held scanners are also used for replenishment of materials into the warehouse.


Working 06.00 to 14.30 Monday to Friday, the starting rate will £10.50 per hour, rising to £11.00 per hour at 6 months on successful completion of training.


Key Tasks Include:

  • Pick and pack customer orders using handheld scanners.
- scan the bin and then put product into the required containers, such as stillages and pallets.

  • Use appropriate packaging materials to protect the product e.g stillage liners.
  • Ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent order errors and damage.
  • Use forklift trucks, tugs, picking platforms and any other machinery that is required in a safe manner and according to the training provided.
  • Ensure all required daily safety checks are completed.
  • Move stock around the warehouse in a safe manner.
  • Book stock in externally and internally when required.
  • Assisting with stock checks as required.
  • General housekeeping such as cleaning and maintenance is part of the daily routine to ensure stored goods are kept tidy and safely.
To be successful in the role you will need the following

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Clear understanding and appreciation of health and safety procedures
  • Good timekeeping.
  • Excellent team working and adaptability.
  • Clear communication skills.
It would also be an advantage if you had the following but full training will be given:

  • Tug experience.
  • Experience with picking platforms.
  • Previous experience using handheld scanners
