Tempting Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a

local authority in the

Southeast London region, to recruit experienced

SEN Caseworker. If you are looking to increase your earnings for the year,


Contract:
Until May 2024 (possible extension)

Salary:
£28 p/h umbrella

Start Date:
ASAP

Shift Pattern:


36 hours per week /

Monday - Friday / 9am-5pm (1 Full-time position)

18 hours per week / Monday - Friday / (1 Part-time position)

DUTIES

  • Providing information and advice to parents of children / to young people with special educational needs and disabilities and signposting them to services as necessary.
  • To monitor advice from education, health and social care contributors and other professionals and ensure that this is relevant to their area of expertise and meets the requirement of the SEN Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 201
  • Being the first point of contact for enquiries to the SEN Team.
  • To take lead responsibility/be a single point of contact for a portfolio of young people with SEND, and monitor and maintain the education, health, and care plan for each young person in the portfolio.
  • Liaising with education, health, and social care professionals such as Teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinators, Educational Psychologists, Paediatricians, Health Visitors, Therapists and Social Workers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • At least 2 years' experience within a SEN Caseworker role or equivalent.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in an educational setting, local authority or with children and young people with SEN.
  • Great negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.
