What will the apprentice be doing?
The practice is offering a varied role to support the learning and development of its medical administrator which will include a cross section of the areas of administration at the practice.
- Processing of incoming and outgoing mail
- File and store records as required
- Photocopy documentation as required
- The processing of changes to patient registration, deduction of record and new patient registration
- Process requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance / solicitor's letters and DVLA forms
- Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required
- Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently
- Manage all enquires in an effective manner
- Maintain an accurate referrals database
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient's healthcare records
- Input data into the patient's healthcare records as necessary
- Process referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS)
- Manage all administrative queries as necessary
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.

- Full on the job training
- Online mandatory and statutory training
Working week
Monday - Friday with one hours unpaid lunch break Occasional Autumn Saturday shifts paid on an overtime basis for vaccination clinics

Serving 14,500 patients, Tavyside is a training practice, facilitating GP Registrars and medical students and is a committed, active member of the West Devon PCN.
